For me when they released the Directors cut I felt that it ruined what was a fantastic film. all they done for the Directors was to remove the voice over and happy ending and added a unicorn, but for the final cut they have kept what was in the DC version but tidied up the editing, so those bits where Deckard was doing his voice over part isn't drawn out but now slightly shorter. all the editing is much better and makes the Final cut more enjoyable to watch, I still think the international version is still the best version, my advice is buy the Box set instead and find out what version you prefer.
Blade Runner remains a masterpiece of cinema, a mesmerizing blend of visual design, music and stylish characterisation. In truth this Final Cut does not differ dramatically from the Directors Cut, unless - like Scott himself - you are obsessed with visual detail. I was only conscious of positive improvements: the print is clean, some awkward edits and effects have been neatly massaged, but the narrative remains the same.
The "Making of..." features in this box-set are worth watching once, if only so that you can marvel at the fact that the film ever overcame the egos and obsessions of its creators. It is not a "definitive" telling of the production story, because no two people involved can agree on what happened or why. It is well known that this was a troubled production, but to see testimony from cast and crew brought together is occasionally depressing. However, fans can have a giggle at the studio representatives who don't appear to understand what the film is about.
The film feels fairly slow paced, giving you plenty of time to soak up the brilliant and haunting 40's style atmosphere Ridley Scott creates for future LA. And that's what stands this film apart; it paints a complete picture of the future that is frighteningly plausible. The Final Cut is a great version of what is surely one of the best films ever made.
